- I am from Switzerland, but study in the US.

- On the hardware side you need a normal modem (it has to be officially
- tested by the Swiss Telecom (PTT) if you want to be legal, so you can't
- import one from abroad...).

- On the software side any communications package will do (eg. Windows95's
- Hyperterminal)

- Most of Switzerland has now Tone service, although there are a few that
- still use pulse dialing. A word of caution: telephone rates per minute
- are VERY expensive in Switzerland.
